right away i want to address the fact that FAs can sub multiple times in a row for a team while a PFA cannot. rule 5.8.2 I think there needs to be patchwork done that addresses any substitute is barred from subbing back to back match days. i would love to get a feeler poll out there and see how widly supported expanding the map pool to 9 would be Thonk

also it never really got dug at but getting 6.3 Bugs and Exploits more strictly defined and removing a bit of overseeing power from Admins by painting clearer refrence points to what is and isnt allowed

yeah it was very sparse and as the new kid on the block in RC i felt like i bit my tongue and then when you miss a part of the convo in a thread then ur disconnected from discussion :/ i know i held back. i sense more did as well. i think trying to gather in a call together and vibing on mic would promote better conversations and back and forths. schedule and make some mandatory even if its on match days. hopefully we clear up github/trello/discord where we communicate and go over things in one centralized location for season 9 RC

i think it can lead to situations where there is a goated FA and they can refuse to sign with any team right they want to FA but can get reused by a certain team WITHOUT being forced to sign with them. maybe thats the compromise instead of outright banning a FA from playing back to back, if they do then they must sign them after the 2nd match day. say a team wants to be naughty, they have 5 players, one goes out on IR and then they pick up another 5th, THEN make an agreement with a goated FA and have them refuse all other offers and continually just subs for the team. now that one team has 8 players in one tier. rule needs to be polished up

How fast do you think new rules should be discussed and implemented? From an outsider's view it seems like the rules committee meets occasionally and new rules are implemented as a batch. Do you agree with that approach?

its hard to say because a rush to pump them out leads to giving in to group think and passing because the others say to/voted to and some things dont get looked at in enough ways and then get passed with a glaring hole in it. RC should def be checked and over the season maybe have check ins similar to admin newsletter,,, i do agree with that assessment i think biweekly checks in at a minimum to really keep the smoke under RC'S behind

Why do you want the map pool to be expanded to nine? I feel like sticking with the Valve Major pool is the best we can do to be a consistent league that is "casually competitive". I think your suggestion for restricting FAs hamstrings teams for a rare occurrences. Maybe you have a specific example on where a player might want to only FA and not sign. But I think most good players who take the league for what it is (for fun), would welcome a chance to sign with the best team that they can. The advent of having regular FAs being able to be signed for multiple match days provides those who were NOT chosen to be on a team a chance to play and actually participate. While allowing teams to still field a Five for the Match. I don't believe the system is broken and I am concerned that you see a "slight" issue and want to overturn good rules for an outlier situation.

To be fair u4euhh talked about having a poll for 9 maps. I, and I know others, have volunteered to swap to FA solely to get around the PFA restriction. Also not allowing a FA to sub for the same team twice in a row does not largely hamstring their ability to play. They have already just had the chance to play and participate for the given team the previous match day. And now for the current match day they can play for every other team. Which in the worse case is 7/8 teams. This is not a large restriction on general playing ability. This is more likely to inhibit a teams ability to play when (p)FAs are low than on an FAs game time. If you are interested in prioritizing FAs over PFAs that is also another take to keep the rule. (edited)
