Cash mentioned in Chels' question that the committee met very seldom over the course of the last season. In your initial answer, you mentioned that you had time restraints. Would your schedule allow for more meeting times for the committee to meet and work?
What experiences or skills do you think you possess that you think would help aid a rules committee. I will be blunt, in the past I've heard that you have been difficult and hard to work with. I believe that contrarian opinions can help in a committee environment. But, I would like you to articulate why you think you have it within yourself to do so.
Short answers:
-I'm confident that my schedule will not interfere with Rules committee business.
-I work well with others in a group setting. While working with other goal-oriented people I am very open to constructive discussion.
Better answers:
I actually have a relatively open schedule, so regular meetings or whatever wouldn't be an issue for me. My concerns about my schedule were mostly regarding the time commitment for positions like mod committee. I figured working on Rules would let me make that positive impact without worrying about external things preventing me from fulfilling my duties to the best of my abilities.
In settings where there is some end goal/collaborative work being done I'm entirely open to others' solutions/opinions (including, and sometimes especially, if they differ from my own). To give one example, you could ask my most recent team (likely my other two teams before that, too, but I'd argue recency is most important). While I wouldn't say I like to play devil's advocate, I think a healthy debate leads to a better outcome overall. Sometimes people mistake this for me being a contrarian, or necessarily disagreeing strongly with someone else, but it's my view that opinions left unchallenged are often not the best versions of themselves (mine included, obviously).
