QUESTIONS FROM: xNolan
What’s 1 rule you would propose changing?
What change should be made?
Why do you think it should change?
Doesn’t need to be an immediate issue, doesn’t need to be a problematic rule, could even be a rule that is “perfect” already. I just want to know what your thought process is and what, in your eyes, stands out as a rule that needs changing. (I also don’t care whether or not you actually pursue this change if you get in, this is all theoretical)
Think of this question as asking how we know you’re not joining rules just to “contribute to a bigger part of the league” in a sense, but because you think you can contribute in a way that will better the league. Rules doesn’t need people that are the same as the others, that will sit in the RC meetings and agree with things, maybe saying a sentence every half hour. it needs members that have a different way of thinking that can spark the most effective discussions
but there are two rules i think could use an adjustment are
6.2.1.1 Server location is set to Dallas by default, unless both teams agreed upon Chicago with prior notice to Admins.
6.3.1.1 Disrupting any map features with the use of items (e.g. stopping the train on Overpass) is not allowed.
The first issue with the ruling on Dallas is that it ignores the existence of Home/Away teams (that are used for vetoing) using that same discriminator as the decider of who gets to choose their preferred server. If the away team likes dallas (and that is the default) but the home team reallllllly prefers Chicago it just doesnt matter because Dallas is hardcoded as the default server, when it should at least be Home team's choice. Gives more of a reason to even have home/away instead of a coinflip for veto advantage, also players in northern canada who struggle on a Dallas server AT LEAST get half the games a season (that would be home) on a closer more stable ping.
I would change the latter rule to be more descriptive, does this "map feature" include squeaky doors????? because you can block the door from opening a certain way with decoys, guns on the ground etc. think it needs a clarification as its too broad in its current form.
While on discusion of rule changes there is an error in 6.4.1.1 Technical pauses, as outlined in Rule 6.1.3.2, are allowed here to give the disconnected player reasonable time to reconnect.
while it refers to rule 6.1.3.2 that rule only says Mirage. Not all rules were updated at the same time so there are some such as these that were overlooked overtime
