SORRRRRYYYYYYY I HALF RESPONDED TO BOTH LAST NIGHT THEN HOPPED ON POKEMANS SORRY
there are a bunch of reasons why mid season drop outs happen, keepers and the act of trialing players without really intending to keep them (my teams have done when we know theres only one rifler spot available realistically) is under the umbrella of "keepers being the issue". In the sense it is but the nepotism angle of wanting to build a Franchise or a team around players you want to keep for a While because they work great together, just vibe really well and some become captains as a psuedo-AGM especially after longer tenures. That was always encouraged it felt like until the recent sweeping change to lock keepers. I think a limit was needed ESPECIALLY after getting a huge wave from xbox, there had to be ways to keep new players in. Hard to tell so recent after a tier addition, and major spike in member numbers overall that the rule change was "good" objectively or not but i think it should stand. Four players is still a lot and id argue to adjust the rule to three keepers from the season beforec, i feel as if FA signings in a period like rn during combines have been SEVERELY punished, but that was really my original stance with the Rule. At this point I dont think it needs any changes, content now with the ruling.
yesss as someone who Numbers is trying so desperately hard to keep in contender, im a consistant promotion Player taking up a spot in a roster as an IGL where more of my 'stats' come off the field so i justifyably am misplaced and require a promo to get into the rank i can win and hang around in (i can in elite GMs if youre looking if fr). It isnt healthy for new players for sure and there has for sure been times where there is upgrades over me and the franchise hasnt jumped the gun even if it would, on paper and in a vaccum, be better moves but there was a lot of trust and faith provided by the long franchise relationship. i really have a gripe with numbers committee bc the God who decides all wont let me join, as well as there is a LOT of gaps in the 'formula' and the skill of manual numbers members is (kinda yeah offense) low at eyeing what CSGO Skill, awareness and sense of game is. There ARE missed players and sometimes players are so valuable and underMMRrated i cant say anything on a Ban or Limit immediatly without seeing more context. Stats on if there were more than 2x promotions per team something like that to see if the problem is rampant enough to warrent a change. There comes the time where some people really need the ego breaking check that its time to accept the scale of MMR has outpaced the growth of you as a player. season 8 to 9 there was a BIG MMR curve/jump/power crepe however you want to phrase it, but this jump had a lot of Season 7 chally players set below challenger and it was aparent that there was a LOT of promotions for the sake of staying in the green tier. Last season with the new tier i think a similar power creep adjustment has occurred BUTTTTT faceit ESEA being so much more easier to join IM there will be a mass loss in players without drastic Premier tier changes,,,,, so its gonna be the opposite of a power creep?? an MMR inflation??? like super reverse crash where all of top of elite last season have to fill the Premier top dog spots and everything gets squished upwards idk. Like you said it is on the numbers committee to place them, they should land right or that system needs to be looked at. Numbers is a lot and very wonky so i say no to a limit for now but am hungry to see more data on if over-promotions saturate team counts. It really questions the core of the leagues "skill evaulation" if there is SO many players misPlaced that a promo limit is necessary, or does the player want/need a promo because its an ego thing?? (for me yeah it is lol i know where i really Rank) hehe good questions @UPS | TNoodle 🏆🏅🏅
