Why do you want to be an Arbiter? I want to be Arbiter to take a bigger role in the community, as a way to give back and I feel confident in my abilities after learning what the position entails. I think having an appeal process is instrumental for the integrity of the server, and having competent people in the role of arbiter to ensure bans are given out correctly. But because there is an appeal, it means the person who was banned or muted might not agree with the reason they were given. Being able to convey to them in a way they understand and agree with it also important so they don't hold resentment towards the staff as well. You want the person to learn why they were given a punishment and try to direct them in a way to avoid breaking the rules again. What experience do you have, if any, that would help you in the position of Arbiter? I don't have much online experience as an "Arbiter" besides usually being the captain of all the teams I've been on through the years. But I held a lot of leadership positions in school and even my current job, I work as the trainer at my current job and usually train and cross train any new hires or employed associates at tasks management want them to learn. During school, especially high school I was the nerd who was president of all the clubs or VP, I also was 1st chair saxophone and low brass and coordinated 30ish people during band practices and half time shows. Overall I would say I have a lot of experience at talking and working with rules that are preset and trying to use those rules that I already know and explain and teach people about them. If Player A is struck for being rude (Rule 10) to Player B, but claims that it was a joke, how would you rule this case and why? According to the rule book and behavior guidelines, you would want to give player A a verbal warning about being rude and disrespectful towards a community member as a step 1 punishment. It would depend on the severity of the comment to actually strike player A on it, excessive cursing and taunting in a community text channel is definitely a no go especially if both players aren't friends to begin with. Fun fact: Arbiters have 7 days to make a decision once the appealant has made their initial claims, however time sensitive punishments like mutes and MD bans can affect a players ability to play in matches and events. With that in mind, there can be some pressure to make decisions faster than others may feel comfortable doing so. How confident are you in your abilities to analyze and address provided evidence in a timely manner while still feeling that enough due diligence was done?

As a former arbiter, I understand that there are times where the mods and admins might disagree with how the arbiters are approaching a case. If elected, do you plan on finding ways to better meet in the middle with the other parties or do you want to stick to your own opinions on cases? Are you wanting to find ways bolster the arbiter's abilities and suggest changes to the committee and/or the mods' behavior guidelines since you rule based on those guidelines?

I’m very confident in my ability to conclude and analyze quickly, I understand that we as a team should wait for either a majority or unanimously agree on decisions before pushing it through, especially if we have only a few cases at a time to deal with we should give the appeals as much detail and respect as we can.

I think understanding why an admin or a moderator gave the ban or punishment in the first place is important within the process of reviewing the case and ensuring the correct punishment was given. That being said you should also be cautious of just assuming everything was done properly and really try to be as neutral as possible, trying to stick to the guidelines and paying attention to the evidence should always be the default. I don’t think every case we would overturn or change a punishment but I would have no issue if I think a punishment is too harsh to suggest that maybe a change to the committees
