Hello everyone! This is the Season 12 Arbiter Committee Discussion channel. This channel (and connected threads) will be made available until 5:00PM EST on Sunday 8/20 when we will then open voting. Please use the threads to ask candidates questions, even if it is the same question for each candidate. This helps to keep things organized as well as makes it much easier for each of our candidates to be able to keep track of what questions they have being asked to them. Anyone is eligible to participate in asking questions to the candidates. Please keep these channels on topic and avoid posting any memes/gifs. These channels are meant to be serious and mods/admins will deny individual people the ability to participate in discussions if the channel starts getting abused. I would also like to note that Arbiters do not dish out punishments nor do they decide how punishments are given. They are only there to uphold, change, or remove a strike given to a player depending on what the whole arbitration committee (minus anyone who has recused) votes. We are bringing in 4 new Arbiters this season. Candidates that are voted #1 and #2 will take a 2 Season term, and candidates that are voted #3 and #4 will take a 1 Season term. (edited)

I guess some insight for the newer candidates. While a first time rule 10 strike is technically a verbal warning, the player still technically received the strike and it is on their record, which goes towards ban points and escalated future steps. Overturning even a verbal warning would remove the points and prevent their "second" rule 10 from being anything more than a verbal warning again.

Not sure if that affects your answer to the last question or not. It's not normally the mega telling you to shut up warning, it's a formal strike when they actually get a DM from the bot about it because the dm includes a brief strike history.

No arbitration discussion but what are your feeling about arbitrage?

So it's clear: another candidate is being added as they provided proof that the application they had submitted was never received on our end. They will not gain extra time for discussions and will be voted on at the same time as the other candidates.
