Why do you want to become an Admin? I believe that I could use my expertise in business management to help the CSC. My love for this community goes far beyond helping with Media. I would love to do more for CSC and work together with other admins to make the next season a great season. What prior experience do you have that you believe will help you as an Admin? I have experience as an admin in other communities, for example, Revenge Nation, All World Gaming, and Lionheart Esports. I am a also educated in business management. I know that CSC is not a legal entity but it does function like a business. I think I could help CSC with everyday operations and management. What things do you hope to implement, reinforce, or remove as an Admin. I would love to reinforce the FA Colosseum and give FA's/PFA's more things to do when they get cut from teams or feel neglected. I would love to have more events for FA's to participate in so they do not feel left out. I would also like to work with the other admins and help them implement their ideas as well. I would also like to implement charity streams. Extra Life is a great nonprofit that you raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Ablegamers is another charity CSC could hold a charity stream for. (edited)

Hi Anonimouse, there seems to be a lot of discussion regarding (P)FAs involvement in the league this past season and it's a prevalent initiative in your campaign. I was just curious, in addition to the expansion of the FA Colosseum do you think there are other things you would like to introduce as an admin that addresses the players that enter league post-draft so they can still be involved in the "casual competitive ~team~ CS" atmosphere? Best of luck!!

What ideas or goals, if any, do you have with regards to the premiere tier?

Hi Anonimouse, good playing with you last season! Do you think part of the FA problem, especially in Prospect last season, was that there were not enough teams? Would you be willing to advocate for more orgs to pick up teams in tiers they dont currently occupy? Thanks and GL!

Im going to explain this, but Anoni can feel free to still answer the question however they would like because it doesn't hurt at all to still answer. In Season 9, we experienced over a 50% loss of FAs in Prospect (this was large in part due to a lack of activity check pre-draft, so the player counts were a bit inflated than actual. Season 10, we reinstated our activity check before the draft but still stayed on the side of caution in case we experienced a large drop again. The goal was to compare our loss of FAs from Season 9 and Season 10 and then assuming Season 10 went well, we would look to work closer with our set numbers post activity check, meaning we would be less cautious and have more teams in Season 11 (assuming our player counts were to stay the same, but these things will change depending on how many signups we get, how many players return, etc.) (Also just because I don't know if this is known by everyone, but the amount of teams in tiers/franchises are determined by how many players there are, they aren't just adopted by franchises randomly) (edited)

Hi Anonimouse! While the admin team did greenlight the FA Colosseums and have provided some guidance on them, they have given me a surprising amount of autonomy with the project. Because of the purpose of the Colosseums, it isn't currently under events and I've actually worked with the numbers team the most on them. A lot of how they were structured this season was to minimize their impact on staff resources because similar projects has failed in the past. That being said, what changes would you make to the colosseums and what steps would you take to ensure they were the best decision to make?

I will preface every answer with the same sentence: I cannot promise anything as an admin candidate but from what I have seen in the Serious Suggestions Discussion chat, many (P)FA’s are unhappy/unsatisfied with how things are right now. I also understand that many of the processes in the CSC are complex and messy. As an admin, I want to cater to those who are not on teams and give them an opportunity to participate in the CSC community. I know that (P)FA’s can join committees, sub in for teams, and can be signed to teams up until a certain point in the season. I was an FA for this season but I joined media and observed/casted games. Some others may not want to do that, I feel if (P)FA’s had more options, we could also retain players (I’m not sure of how many (P)FA’s have left or have gone inactive). As an admin, I wouldn’t just be working with other admins, I would be working with committee heads as well. I want newer players that join after the draft to feel welcomed into a community that I have come to love and appreciate. (edited)

PFA | Crimson King 4/10/2023 9:03 PM
I cannot promise anything as an admin candidate but after participating in the FA Colosseum, it felt much like combines and I had so much fun participating. I have many ideas when it comes to events. Before applying for the admin position, I was planning on joining the events committee. The main idea I had for FA’s past participating in the FA Colosseum was to have (P)FA’s create teams and we have a small scale (P)FA Major Tournament, similar to the Old Map Event that was held but with FA’s and of course rostered player can join if there isn’t enough (P)FA’s that want to participate. I was also thinking that (P)FA’s could participate in events created for charity streams. I work with multiple non-profits through my actual day job and doing something meaningful can be very fulfilling. I want to work with events committee to give (P)FA’s events they can participate in, instead of sitting around hoping to sub in a game. As for rostered players, I’m not sure what specific experience you would like for me to give insight on. I was only rostered for about two weeks so my experience is different. Could you elaborate on what experience rostered players are having that needs improvement?

While I do think that it would be awesome to have more prospect teams, it honestly depends on how many players there are. I do however think it would be a great idea to have a (P)FA team scrim a rostered team every once in awhile.

Similarly, do you have any concerns about what the makeup of the rest of your admin team will end up being?

In order to give myself and others a better idea of how these positions translate into qualifications for CSC admins, can you talk a little about some of the things you were directly responsible for in these other organizations? Can you explore the idea a little of how this might translate into the position you are running for?

I didn't realize FA Colosseums were under Numbers instead of Events. It does make sense though since FA Colosseums is where (P)FA's can shine. My initial thought process when catering to (P)FA's is purely based off of what I have seen in the Serious Suggestions Discussion channel. I noticed many are unhappy/unsatisfied with what we currently have in place and some feel neglected. I want to improve their experience by offering more options to them. Perhaps both committees should work together to support more events in the near future. As far as changes made to the FA Colosseum, I would probably try to host it on more than one day a week, every other week throughout the season. (edited)

I wouldn't even say they are under numbers TBH. Numbers made a few couple of requests relating to tier merging since they saw that the extra data could be valuable. I guess it's kind of been a homeless project that myself and a few volunteers helped get started and manage. Now that we have some baseline of participation and feedback, I'd definitely be excited to see it expanded beyond its current stats 🙂

I do have a vision for CSC beyond it being a "for fun league." I am a huge advocate for nonprofits and I believe that CSC can do more than be a "for fun league." I believe CSC has a large enough player base and enough viewers on Twitch that we could hold charity streams and raise funds for a cause. My motivation for charity streams comes from my passion for helping others, as well as my struggle with chronic illness. CSC has a great community here and I know that CSC could do really make a difference.

My work with Revenge Nation, All World Gaming, and Lionheart Esports was mostly in the Rainbow Six Siege circuit instead of Counter Strike. I was the marketing director for Lionheart Esports. It is a tier 3 esport org in the Rainbow Six Circuit. One of my friends started the org in 2020. I mostly made ads for the org and acted like a liaison between sponsors. CSC operates completely different than the other communities. Here admins are elected and there isn't an "owner" that oversees operations. I do like the democratic process that CSC has for its admins. I think my work with other communities has given me experience that CSC could benefit from. I have learned that growth is hard and messy but sometimes necessary. I have also learned that working together is much better than working apart and as an admin, I know that I would work together with the other admins to find solutions to issues or implement change as necessary.

@NAN | GREG0ROVITCH 🏆 I started with Lionheart Esports in 2021 and mostly helped with marketing the org. As the R6 roster progressed through tier 3 tournaments, we started looking into sponsorships. The reason these communities aren't known is because they are tier 3 esport organizations. It's oversaturated and most of the teams disband after a year or so. Tier 3 esports are volatile but I didn't let it slow me down when working with them. I worked with multiple companies for sponsorships, these companies include JerkyPro, Glytch Energy, and Grilla (a tournament organizer). My experience with these communities and businesses have allowed me to grow management skills, as well as communication skills. I work well with others and I try to problem solve as much as I can. I mainly want people to be happy and enjoy themselves within the community. (edited)

With the premier tier wanting to go to a specific day, this would be something that all admins should discuss. If different tiers want to have specific days, that would be something that admins should consider and bring up in discussion. As an admin candidate, I cannot promise anything but it is probably something admins should look into. I am not bending to any one tier. I am wanting to help all (P)FA's throughout each tier and I would try my best to help rostered players as well in each tier. I do not want to show favoritism to just one tier. As an admin, I would treat each tier with equal respect.

PFA | Crimson King 4/12/2023 3:15 PM
I noticed that the CSC does raise money from the community to pay for each season. That is essentially how non-profits work, you raise money through donations and it's primary role is to provide a service or benefit to the community with no intention of earning a profit. CSC made it clear that they want to remain a not-for-profit community so becoming a non-profit is the best solution for the CSC if they ever wanted to become a legal entity. This is another reason I want to host charity streams. Hosting charity streams and funneling donations into known gaming related non-profits like Ablegamers and Extra Life would give the CSC some experience with working with non-profits before considering becoming one itself. I do not expect CSC to become a non-profit as admins may view it as too much of a risk. I only advocate for CSC to become a legal entity because of the funds raised to pay for seasons. According to the IRS, if someone (an individual or organization) were to donate more than $250, those records must be kept, among other things. Mainly, I just want the CSC to protect itself.

What I enjoy most is how fun it is to be here. I enjoyed observing games, almost more so than playing the game. As for players discouraged by their experience, I would try to help those individuals. After observing games and trying to learn something new, I was discouraged because of the feedback I was getting from prospect members. It honestly made me not want to observe again. I think as someone who was discouraged before, I can help those in the community that feel discouraged.

What regr3tti brought up is valid. Incorporating is not as difficult as some think it is. Becoming a 501(c)3 non-profit wouldn't be as complicated as becoming an LLC. You don't have to have one owner either but I also don't see why we can't elect like a CSC president or something.

That's why if there ever is a "figure head" elected for the CSC, there has to be a checks and balances system in place. Like a Veto system and an expulsion system if the "figure head" is going on a power trip but I don't think this change would occur during my term if I'm elected Admin but I do think it would be cool to entertain the idea.

Through my experience as an arbiter, there seems to be a variety of views on how different staff groups and player groups view arbiters. I understand no individual has the ability to dictate or define what that role is, but what do you see the role of Arbiters as? Do you see the high turnover rate of arbiters as an issue? Do you want to see any changes to that role?
Avatar
The focus in a lot of Admin elections tends to land on transparency or major changes the candidates want to see. That said, you would be joining a group with a trajectory they have been working towards for a season(+) and would need to work with them for any changes around that. What current projects or actions do you want to encourage and help with that the current admin team is working on? What is one idea or project of yours do you think the current team would help you with?

From my understanding arbiters are similar to a justice court, where players can get an appeal of moderating decisions made against them. I did not realize there was a high turnover rate for arbiters but I also haven't seen many people get strikes or bans within the group of individuals I talk to mostly. If high turnover is an issue, perhaps looking into burnout experienced by arbiters should be addressed. If an arbiter is struggling with burnout, maybe the should take a break and admins can step in and help when needed.

Sorry for the late response, I fell asleep early last night (I have the flu). I do see many people looking for teams/communities through Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, and even in other Discord communities. I've seen Reddit and Twitter being used the most. I think if CSC were to be active on social media, we would see more players join but having players join isn't necessarily the end goal. Getting players to stay in the community and stay active is the goal.
